If I'm being totally honest, I still doubt myself...

I have been shooting weddings and elopements since the very beginning of 2009. And while I don't doubt my ability to do my job really well, I am still an introvert, and I do still have insecurities. I don't doubt my abilities as a photographer, or an elopement planner, or a really good friend to all of my couples. But I still start every elopement day with some anxiety over whether or not my couples will like me - personally.

I still sometimes fear that my personality is too much. That maybe I'm too ADHD. That I come across too goofy or awkward sometimes. I've had so much positive feedback through reviews and personal text messages and emails that my couples feel comfortable, disarmed, and free to have an incredible experience when they spend their wedding day with me. But that wounded kid in me.. the one who was NOT cool, NOT popular, constantly told I was annoying, loud, weird... that part of me gets anxious before every single elopement.

I'm working on it. Trying to lean into my intense and slightly awkward enthusiasm.. my random inspiration and clumsiness.. but it's been almost 17 years and I doubt it will ever completely go away. So when I read reviews like this, I just get such an overwhelming sense of pride, accomplishment and connection to the ones who wrote the words. I remember that I'm not new at this, that the insecurities I feel inside probably arent detectable on the outside, and that I'm really good at what I do!
